Adam and Eve

Wishing all the readers a pleasant day. Today i am going to write about Adam and Eve, the first persons GOD created on earth. Adam and Eve find mention in sacred textbooks of all religions in the world(showing that all religions are same). Most of us know only literary interpretation of the story but now i would like to share the symbolic interpretation of this story which i read in the book written by Paramahamsa Yogananda. He was enlightened with this knowledge by his esteemed guru Paramahamsa Yukteswara Giri.
The story of Adam and Eve is described in the book of Genesis, chapters 1,2,3. I am sure everyone in the world hasp pondered over the mystery in creation of the first human beings. As a child i have. The answer is simple but profound. None other than God had power to create Adam and Eve. God created them by his sheer will power. Scientists all over the world are trying to prove that man evolved from monkey. God did create man from animals but he gifted them with the thousand petalled lotus ie the brain which give us an edge over the animals and other life forms. apart from the brain man has an erect spinal chord with 12 nodal centres which are the centres of energy. he also infused divine thoughts into them for the advancement of the race. Adam symbolized reason and eve emotion.
Book of genesis says "The serpent tempts eve into eating the forbidden fruit from the tree of knowledge of good and evil and she gives the fruit to adam too. God expels them both from the garden of eden and curses them". the literary interpretation of this verse is that god planted the tree of good and evil in the midst of garden of eden from which god directly forbade adam to eat. a serpent later tempted eve, who was aware of the prohibition, to eat the forbidden fruit from the tree. adam also ate and they became aware of their nakedness. having proven themselves untrustworthy, they presented a risk that they would also eat the fruit of tree of life and become immortal.to prevent this they were banished from the garden and forced to survive on earth. according to paramahamsa Yogananda, the tree of life is nothing but our own spinal chords with hair as the roots and nerves as the branches. the fruits of the trees are nothing but the senses(sight, sound,smell,taste,feel, intuition???) which we enjoy through our nerves.(when god created Adam, he gave him the power of intuition along with the 5 senses we enjoy.) what God forbade from Adam was enjoying the fruit at the center of the tree(body),ie serpent or our penis. putting it in simpler words, god forbade sex which only the lower forms of life ie the animals enjoy. as i had earlier said, Eve symbolizing emotion was tempted by the serpent and she enjoyed the fruit which God forbade. Adam being the reason was overcome by emotion and he too succumbed. thus both of them were banished to the earth from the casual world or the garden of eden. on earth Adam and Eve became aware of their nakedness and wore clothes. tree of knowledge and evil represents represent the duality or the maya principle which every person on earth is subjected to. additional proof for the duality principle is the life and death phenomenon. no living creature can escape death.also man is subjected to alternating phases of joy and pain in their life span.
Adam and Eve using God's gift of reproduction, multiplied and occupied the earth. dear readers remember that God always cares for us and in every creation of his,he does'nt leave any proof to show that he created it. in this way he urges all men to rise above the materialistic desires and ego and realize the power of God or unity and be in communion with him.
